During a March 19 episode of Spotify's Countdown To, Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco took a trip down memory lane, discussing their relationship and upcoming album, I Said I Love You First.
Blanco decided to put Gomez on the spot with a question:
🎤 “Do you remember the first party we went to as a couple?”
After a brief laugh, the 32-year-old singer and actress recalled an unforgettable (and slightly humiliating) moment.
💬 “I don't know if it was the first time, but it was actually really funny. We went to Taylor's party after an awards show as a couple.”
However, things didn't go as planned.
😂 “I was so embarrassed. It seems like cool people don't show up on time for parties!” Gomez admitted.
Benny calls Selena!
Blanco, never one to pass up an opportunity to poke fun, quickly chimed in:
💬 “We're the first people at every party when I go with you.”
Then came the hilarious comparison:
💬 “You, for example, show up when my mom arrives at a party.”
Swift’s star-studded parties are famous for their exclusivity and A-list guest lists, so arriving early probably wasn’t the best decision.
Selena and Taylor: Best Friends Since 2008
Gomez and Swift’s longtime friendship dates back to 2008, when they both dated the Jonas Brothers: Gomez with Nick Jonas, Swift with Joe Jonas.
Despite the awkward mishap at the party, the two remain inseparable, and Swift once described their bond as a sisterhood that would last forever.
